How a job runs

Survey, measure, overhaul, refit, hand over

The order matters more than the list. Measurement comes before cutting, and the scope is set by what the survey finds.

Survey aboard

The job starts on the vessel: what is worn, what is out of line, what has to come out and what can stay. The scope is agreed against what is found, not against a template.

Measurement and drawing

Components are measured and drawn before anything is cut. Where a part is no longer supplied, the same measurement becomes the drawing it is remade from.

Removal and workshop

Shaft lines, propulsion and hydraulic assemblies and machinery come ashore for overhaul, machining and rebuild, then go back as a fitted assembly.

Refit and installation

Hull maintenance and equipment installation aboard, alongside or in dock, with the crew working to the vessel's own programme.

Handover

Work is checked against the scope agreed at survey, and the documentation for it is handed over with the vessel.
