Capability

When the manufacturer stops supplying, we make it

Indigenisation by reverse engineering: measuring a component that is out of production, drawing it properly, and making it again so the equipment stays in service.

The problem

Equipment outlives its supply chain

A pump, a gearbox or a handling rig will run for thirty years. The company that made its impeller may have stopped making it after eight, changed the design twice, or closed. The machine is fine. The part is unobtainable.

What we need from you

Best case

Also workable
The mating parts, or the housing it sits in
Not needed

The method

Seven steps, in this order

The order is the discipline. Measuring before drawing, and separating wear from design intent, is what stops a reverse engineered part from reproducing the failure it replaced.

01

The part arrives, or the machine does

A worn component, a broken one, or an assembly that has to be stripped to find the item that failed. Where nothing is left to measure, the mating parts and the housing carry the dimensions instead.
02

Measurement

Every feature that matters is measured: diameters, fits, thread forms, keyways, hole positions, surface condition. Wear is separated from design intent, because copying a worn part reproduces the fault.
03

Drawing

The measurements become a drawing with tolerances, not a sketch. This is the document that lets the same part be made again in five years without the original ever coming back.
04

Material and treatment

Material is specified from what the part has to survive, not from what is convenient to buy. Heat treatment, plating and surface finish are called out on the drawing with everything else.
05

Manufacture

Machining of engineering components is on the certified scope, and fabrication work is done in the same shop that builds the handling equipment on the defence page.
06

Check against the original

The made part is checked against the drawing and against the item it replaces. A part that fits the drawing but not the machine has failed.
07

Fit and record

The part goes back into the equipment, and the drawing stays. The second one costs less than the first, which is the whole point of doing it this way.

Certified scope

This is the first line of the certificate

Indigenisation of engineering and defence equipment and spare parts through reverse engineering, machining of engineering components, maintenance of equipment, marine services, and the design and development of control systems.

How the work is checked

Send the part that nobody sells any more

Tell us what it came out of and what it does. If it can be measured, it can usually be made.
